About us

Market Metrics is a boutique consultancy located in Ottawa — the heart of Silicon Valley North — that was founded in 2003 to serve the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The ICT sector includes product and equipment manufacturing, software and computer systems, communications services, and distribution (wholesaling).

While we serve clients in person in eastern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area, we work remotely with clients located elsewhere. Our client base includes ICT and knowledge-based businesses across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

During our first years, Market Metrics focused on market assessments. We researched and authored 17 major syndicated ICT market studies under contract for leading Canadian and US publishers of market research. By the late-2000-aughts, our principal Greg Graham was recognized as one of Canada’s leading experts on the business telephony and networking equipment markets.

Since then, we’ve diversified into mainstream management consulting, and have worked with dozens of software developers, manufacturers, service providers, and test equipment vendors — analyzing their markets and developing their strategies and plans.

We offer our clients top-shelf professional skills. Our founder and principal, Greg Graham, is an expert in SaaS and subscription-based service business models, strategic marketing, and strategic planning.

Greg had over 20 years of experience in ICT industries before starting Market Metrics. Through the course of his corporate career, he held increasingly-responsible roles in engineering, software development, marketing, and business planning at companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms, including Hewlett-Packard, Nortel Networks, and TELUS. Greg was a pivotal member of the management team that commercialised Internet access at TELUS, grew its subscriber base to over 100,000 customers in 18 months, and launched North America’s first residential DSL service. Greg holds a B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science, an MBA, and a certificate in Strategic Management.

Since founding Market Metrics, Greg has continued to develop his professional skills so he can serve clients better. He become a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) in Canada, and an accredited SME Consultant (ASMEC) in the United States. He underwent additional training to become one of fewer than 50 people in Canada qualified to deliver ISO 20700-compliant consulting engagements. In 2020, Greg was made a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants (FCMC) of Ontario in recognition of his service to clients, the profession, and the community.
